Tea Field 'Psycho/Saikō' Tabi Slippers
230.00
An elegant indoor slipper in black leather. Plush insoles constructed from supple 2.5 wide welt corduroy textiles, reminiscent of the rows of tea in the mountainous tea fields of Wazuka, Kyoto, Japan, where the inspiration for this collection originated. The ‘Matcha Psycho’ tag for the collection is stitched into the heel. Rubber outsoles permit moderate outdoor usage.
As streetwear and sneaker fashion designer Sabotage learned alongside Gentle Artefacts while conducting fieldwork at Obubu Tea Farms, tea farmers turn to Tabi shoe designs for the grip they provide as they maneuver in the fields. But for this expression as slippers, however, the concept has been transformed from workwear to home-wear. Wear them in good health—and to brew a cup of tea after a long day’s work.
Material: 100% cow leather (upper and lining)
